Getting further down the mountain
- Steer in short taps: Holding a direction carries the sled a long way across the slope and into whatever is on the other side. Short taps make small corrections.
- Look at the far obstacles, not the near ones: By the time an obstacle is close it is already too late to do much about it. Reading the row behind it is what makes the near dodge look easy.
- Gifts are worth a small detour, not a big one: A gift one lane over is free; a gift on the far side of a tree is a trap. The shop fills up on its own if you only take the easy ones.
- Jump the cracks: Some stretches of snow are split by cracks, often with a small ramp in front. Steering will not get you across; the Up arrow will. The tutorial says it too: do not forget to jump.
- Pick sleds for the look: The shop shows no speed or steering stats for any sled, only a name and a price, so choose the one you like and save up for it.

Pro tip: When two trees leave a narrow gap, line the sled up early so it is already straight before it reaches them; a sled that is still sliding sideways is likely to clip the second tree.
